Top-100-Players-For-The-2021

As we look at the top-10 players for the next season, we’ve finally reached the end of the top-100 players in the league. These athletes are superstars among superstars. They are reigning NBA champions, All-NBA First Team choices, and the crème of the crop when it comes to the best players on the planet.

Four of the past five Finals MVPs, the current scoring leader, and nine of the last 10 regular-season MVPs are all in this group. Some of these athletes have a lot to prove this year, while others have risen in the rankings from the previous year. For the next season, we’ve already covered the top 100-51 players, top 50-31 players, and top 30-11 players. The top ten players for the 2024-2024 season are shown below.

Anthony Davis (#10)

Despite playing just 36 games last season, Davis is still a top-10 player in the league. Davis was so important to the success of the Los Angeles Lakers that it showed when he was injured. The Lakers went from being the No. 1 seed in the West to being the No. 7 seed when Davis left. There were other players missing, but Davis’ contribution to the team’s defense was crucial.

Davis was the runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year the year prior, while also being an effective offensive player. Davis averaged 21.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in limited action last season. His points were at a career low, while he had a career-low in rebounds. It’s worth noting that Davis fought through injuries while still putting up strong volume statistics.

With Davis healthy, he should be able to match his debut season in Los Angeles’ stat line of 26.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks. The pairing of Russell Westbrook and Davis is particularly intriguing because it has the potential to be an unstoppable transition duo. With LeBron James thrown in for good measure, Davis may have a breakout season.

Damian Lillard (#9)

1626625983_593_5-Crazy-Blockbuster-Trades-That-Could-Happen-This-Summer

It must be upsetting for Lillard to lose in the first round of the playoffs in Portland, but it must also be disappointing for us as fans since he is such an explosive talent. Lillard had a 28.8 point, 7.5 assist, and 45.1 percent field goal percentage. Lillard has little range yet was the league’s best clutch player last season.

Lillard had 124 crucial points and an 83.0 percent true shooting percentage by March of last year. That implies Lillard was more than likely to make four out of five shots in a crucial scenario. Nobody carried a team as well as Lillard did at the conclusion of games.

Lillard will continue to play a significant role on offense in the future. Aside from the signing of Larry Nance Jr., the Trail Blazers did not make any significant changes. We’re in Lillard’s peak years, which means we’ll see even more incredible moments in the future. The issue is, how can he keep improving on past seasons?

James Harden (#8)

1622199445_527_10-Highest-Paid-NBA-Stars-For-The-2021-2022-Season

The Bleacher Report is a news organization that focuses on sports

Harden is a three-time scoring champion, past MVP, and top-three point guard in the NBA, with a strong case for No. 2. Because of Harden’s fit with the Nets at point guard, Kyrie Irving was shifted to shooting guard. Irving had a career-high in points per game with Harden in charge, while Harden averaged 24.6 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 10.9 assists per game in 36 games with the Nets.

Harden, like other Nets players, battled ailments that limited him to only 44 appearances between the Nets and Houston Rockets. Harden, who is 32 years old, is still in the peak of his career. Harden may have ended first in assists if he hadn’t been injured. Harden is a strong candidate to lead the NBA in assists this season, with playmakers like Irving (if he plays), Kevin Durant, and Joe Harris around him. Since Jason Kidd led the league in assists in 2004, the Nets haven’t had a player top the league in assists.

Harden seems to be comfortable in his new position. He may be the second or third option after years of being the main scorer. Harden will be more of a facilitator since this is Durant’s squad. It will be worth it if it means his first trip to the NBA Finals since 2012.

Joel Embiid (#7)

Last year’s MVP runner-up put up an outstanding effort. Embiid had a 31.1 point, 10.6 rebound, and 1.4 block per game average. He made 51.3 percent of his shots from the field and 37.7% of his three-point attempts. The reason he didn’t earn the MVP was because he only appeared in 51 games and lost time due to injuries. For Embiid, who has never played more than 70 games in a season with the 76ers, this has been a persistent issue.

When healthy, Embiid is a top-two center in the league, with the potential to be the league’s greatest overall center. Last season, the 76ers were unable to clinch the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference without Embiid. Embiid will want to go beyond the second round in the future, something he has failed to accomplish in two of the previous three seasons.

With Ben Simmons presumably out of the picture, Embiid’s position with the club is in doubt. We don’t know how the offense will look next season since Simmons was the main ball handler. It may all be determined by the contents of the box. Simmons, on the other hand, could not be moved and not play at all. With a bigger burden on his plate, Embiid will have to step up offensively, which may lead to another season of 30.0 points per game.

Luka Doncic, No. 6

By the time Doncic retires from the NBA, he will have surpassed LeBron James as the wealthiest player in the league. Doncic is already a $200 million guy at the age of 22, but it’s all earned. The Mavericks did the right thing by re-signing him long-term after a great third season, because what lies ahead is extremely intriguing.

Doncic was named to the All-NBA First Team after averaging 27.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 8.6 assists in his previous season. It’s just a matter of time until Doncic has a season when he averages a triple-double. When it comes to his game, he’s almost like Russell Westbrook on steroids. Now all he has to do is figure out how to win in the playoffs.

The Mavericks have lost in the first round of the playoffs the past two seasons against the Clippers. While Doncic’s numbers are impressive, until he leads his teams to new heights, he will be labeled a stat stuffer. That has occurred to Westbrook in recent years. Fortunately for Doncic, time is on his side. For the time being, Doncic may be a contender for MVP this season.

Nikola Jokic, No. 5

1622546065_822_The-Full-Comparison-2012-Draft-Class-vs-2014-Draft-Class

When it comes to MVPs, Jokic was a result of seizing his opportunity. For openers, both LeBron James and Kevin Durant were forced to withdraw due to injury. The reigning two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo was having trouble lifting the Bucks out of the No. 3 spot. Meanwhile, Jokic was putting up the greatest individual numbers of any center we’d ever seen.

Please don’t misinterpret this. Jokic deserved to be named MVP. He averaged 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, 8.3 assists, and 1.3 steals a game while shooting over 50% from the field and over 40% from three-point range. It’s incredible to imagine that a center might reach the 50-40-90 club this season.

Keep in mind that all of the athletes listed above are in good health. Jokic may not have won the MVP if they had remained healthy. With Jamal Murray out, he remains a top-5 player in the league, despite a heavy workload. The health of Jokic’s supporting cast is crucial. He can bring them to the playoffs, but he’ll need assistance taking them to the NBA Finals for the first time.

Stephen Curry, No. 4

1634000033_378_Top-100-Players-For-The-2021

Curry took it to heart now that his “Splash Bro” is back for a second season. He led the club to the scoring championship by carrying the offensive burden. Curry led the Warriors with 32.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game last season.

Curry had a banner month in April, scoring 37.3 points on 51.8 percent shooting. This featured an 11-game streak in which he scored at least 30 points in each game, breaking Kobe Bryant’s previous record for a player aged 33 or older. Curry also hit 78 three-pointers over that time, a new MVP high. In a calendar month, he became the first player to average 35 points and shoot 50-40-90. C

urry earned the scoring championship after defeating Bradley Beal in the last game with 46 points. Despite the fact that the Warriors lost in the play-in game after earning the No. 8 seed, they would not have been in that position if Curry had not played. If the Warriors dynasty returns, Curry may be in a position to earn his third MVP award if the whole team is healthy.

LeBron James (#3)

1634000034_983_Top-100-Players-For-The-2021

Before being injured, LeBron was on his way to become the league’s oldest MVP. The Lakers were on a run thanks to LeBron James. The squad was the Western Conference’s top seed. The squad then suffered when Anthony Davis and he were injured. LeBron averaged 25.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 7.8 assists while on the court.

It’s amazing how LeBron maintains his dominance in the NBA. He’s also changed his game to one of facilitation. It will be interesting to see how LeBron fits into this offense now that Russell Westbrook is in town. Will he stay in his current role as a point-forward or return to his native position?

When LeBron has the ball in his hands, wonderful things happen. Until LeBron shows symptoms of aging, he will continue to be a top-three player in the NBA. He now has a chance to become the greatest player of all time if he can win one more title.

Kevin Durant, No. 2

1634000034_904_Top-100-Players-For-The-2021

NBA.com

Durant averaged 26.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.3 blocks across 35 games. Prior to his injury, Durant was averaging over thirty points each game. The Nets have never had a player earn MVP in either the regular season or the Finals. Durant has a chance to win both of these awards in the same season.

The Nets are the favorites to win the NBA title. Having James Harden and Kyrie Irving on the squad helps, but a lot of those odds are due to the presence of Kevin Durant. Durant is also an MVP candidate this season. He seems to be in perfect health. He is the top overall scorer in the league when he is healthy.

In a difficult seven-game series against the champion Milwaukee Bucks, Durant almost guided the Nets to the Conference Finals. Durant ultimately fell short, which is why he is the league’s top player for the season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo (#1)

The award for the league’s top overall player must go to the reigning Finals MVP. Giannis was unable to join Larry Bird as the only player to win three consecutive regular-season MVP awards, but he was awarded the better MVP trophy in the end. His playoff performance demonstrated how unstoppable he can be. As he prepares to repeat, we may expect similar results.

All of the statistics were lower than last year, but they were still excellent. Giannis had a 28.1-point, 11.0-rebound, 5.9-assist, 1.2-steal, and 1.2-block per-game average. The former Defensive Player of the Year also finished sixth in DPOY voting and fourth in MVP voting.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is eager for more titles. He’s been quoted as stating that one isn’t enough. If he maintains his motivation, the rest of the league will suffer. Despite losing out on the MVP award last season, he should be back in the mix this season. This includes the MVP and DPOY double wins. Can Giannis win the MVP, DPOY, and Finals MVP in the same season?
